OpenBoot firmware configuration variables are stored in non-volatile memory (NVRAM) on the System Configuration Card. OBP = OpenBoot PROM for system settings and power-on self test (POST) supportok prompt Can anyone talk something about all of this? TKS I am confused with the ilom and obp hardware. We save OBP configuration data in another nvram chip? And OBP itself is an eeprom chip? Things about eeprom and nvram on a T5220 server On a T5220 server with ilom, we save ilom configuration data (ilom user, ip address) in a nvram chip?

I removed the card, reboot the machine, reinstalled the card, upgrade to the latest firmware and it works perfectly now. Our x2270 with the optional ilom card had also issues and not recognized in bios. If you have no video out port on the back then you have no ILOM card.Īssuming you have the ILOM card, have you tried a reconfigure reboot?

Do anyone know how to get IPMI enabled on a Sun Fire x2270?ĭoes your x2270 have the ILOM daughter card installed? It is an option on these machines. I found this link which indicated IPMI configuration is done through the Advanced menu in the BIOS, but there are no IPMI options available anywhere in our BIOS menus.

I assume something needs to be enabled in the BIOS but I cannot find anything related to IPMI. Our system logs indicate that ipmi is not working, and there is no /dev/ipmi0 device as there should be. Need to enable IPMI on Sun Fire x2270 We have a new Sun Fire x2270 server and need to use ipmitool in our application.
